Solar households throughout Queensland can relax as the Newman Government scraps plans to slug homes with fixed tariff fees.

The Courier Mail last week unveiled a report ordered by the Queensland Government recommending fixed fees for solar powered households.

The article prompted a massive reaction online with thousands of Courier Mail readers commenting on and condemning the proposal.

Late last week, Energy Minister Mark McArdle said there will be no fixed charge of any sort on people using solar.

While Mr McArdle has ruled out this fixed tariff, all households may soon face new tariffs exchanging higher prices for a lower kilowatt consumption cost.
