Sungevity Inc., a leader in international residential solar market, announces the availability of additional funding of $1 million for its non-profit partners through its partner Sungevity.org program.
More than 100 non-profit organizations such as The Wilderness Society, Sierra Club, and National Wildlife and National Parks Conservation Association have joined with the institution to provide their members easy and practical ways to fight climate change.

Through their combined effort, these organizations also hope to save money by utilizing solar power as the primary power source for their homes. Electricity sourced from solar power is not only sustainable and renewable but is also cost-effective in the long run.
“The Sungevity.org program has helped grow our business by keeping us connected to our roots as a mission-driven, social change company,” says Sungevity founder Danny Kennedy. This life-long activist said that their results indicated that the market can support the program and vice versa.
Sungevity’s Background
This company was created to enable homeowners to design and build their own solar power systems using an online process. It announced that the organization has already achieved a key milestone with their non-profit partners. Sungevity.org, the company’s partnership program teams up with non-profit institutions to raise funds for their objectives. In the process, they also encourage their non-profit members to use Sungevity solar panels for their solar system installations.
To date, the donation of this company to non-profit organizations has already reached more than $1.5 million. Institutions such as science centres, schools, Save the Frogs and the Sierra Club have received funding from this organization. The company announced that it is making a $50,000 donation to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, in California. This act serves as a celebration for the inclusion of ACCFB to Sungevity’s non-profit partners. The ACCFB serves 1/6 of the resident of Alameda County and provides 4540,000 free meals worth of food each week.
Sungevity Members Incentives
This institution also provides referral bonuses for each of their non-profit members who use solar systems through their program. This method has helped member organizations access new funding streams. Helen Hunt, an Academy Award winning actress and an environmental activist had helped David Kennedy, the institution’s co-founder, launched this program in 2010. They aim to raise much needed funds required by social change organizations, as well as to stimulate the business opportunities of the company.
The company’s sales in the United States doubled in 2013. This increase in revenues was fuelled by three factors: strategic business partnerships, proprietary remote solar design and instant quoting technology. Its business interests in Australia and the Netherlands are also improving rapidly. With their proprietary remote solar design technology, the company can provide a firm offer without visiting the home of the prospect. This system also enables the company to provide the prospect with immediate visibility with regards to the significant money savings he can realize in his energy bills. Under such arrangements, the company’s growth has continued not only in the United States, but in other countries as well.
